I Am Not Ashamed To Stand For God

Scripture teaches us of the character of David and how he stands out as a symbol of courage and resilience. His life is a testament to the idea of being unashamed, and rising above challenges. David's journey begins with the known story against the giant Goliath. While others were afraid of the giant, David stepped forward, armed with nothing but a sling and smooth stones. Unashamed, he faced the giant Goliath, protected by his faith and determination. This heroic act not only won David the victory but also marked the beginning of his leadership as God’s chosen king. Another piece of David's unashamed life is seen in his psalms, where he wrote openly to God and about his sins. In moments of sadness, he expressed gratitude, and in times of trouble, he did not run away from his struggles. David's relationship with God shows his character as he didn’t run and hide from his mistakes.David's life was far from perfect, seen in moments of good and moments of bad. Yet, he faced his sins head-on and asked God’s forgiveness and repented. A perfect of example of this is the sins of David for Bathsheba. David sinned by wanting after Bathsheba and went as far to have her husband Uriah killed in battle. Only David and God knew that this was not just a loss in war but was just a cover up for David’s sin. Until Nathan spoke with David by the story of the man’s young sheep, did David think he had hidden what he had done. David was enraged from the story in which Nathan had spoken. Nathan told him he was the rich man that had claimed the life of the other’s sheep for his sacrifice and David felt remorse and wept. David did not hide from his sin, and he offered a psalm of forgiveness and faced the consequences of his sin through the loss of his child. David remained faithful and strived to do God’s will. He was a man after God’s own heart and was not ashamed to stand for God and the truth.
